Class Description and Materials Needed
I have been wanting to run a class like this for a long time, so here it is!

Come on down with your fabric to create some historical stays and corsets.  I will bring down a bunch of different patterns to choose from, all you need to do is bring along a few supplies.
We will be going through all the steps in creating either historical stay or corset, or a fantasy one.  If you need any assistance on where to get supplies, give us a call!  This class is an all dayer, so we will be taking a break for lunch.  I will have some munchies provided and of course tea to sip while we are sewing.  This will be a fun way to reach out to other reenactors, or those interested in fantasy costuming with a hands-on project!!

You will need:

- 2 yards of front fabric (silk, linen, cotton, canvas, etc) (I say 2 because some may need more fabric depending on size or pattern)

-2 yards lining fabric.  (Hemp canvas, linen canvas, canvas, lighter materials will need interfacing)

-Boning: at least 12 yards.  You can get this in a box (plastic) at jo anns, steel online at corsetmaking.com, or even use reed boning.  Steel would only apply to corsets, and comes in precut sizes.  Buy steel only if you know what pattern you plan to use and if you know cut lengths.  Please do not use zip-ties.  They have the habit of breaking.

-Fabric to bind the edges: this can be just scrapos of the lining, bias tape, ribbon, or whatever

-Your machine or hand sewing supplies

-Chalk or a marking pencil or pen

-Thread to match

-Tracing paper to trace the patterns available.

-Bring a desired pattern if you wish.

-Sewing Pins
