Class Description

The Completer is a simple but elegant garment that, when thrown over basics like jeans and a tee, “completes” your outfit. Sew it up in a floral or animal print and then wear it over shorts and a tank top or choose a more sheer fabric for a flowy beach cover up. The Completer works as an outfit-finisher for so many occasions.

Features wide sleeves, a rounded front, and the perfect length for covering your ‘assets’!

Recommended Materials: Lightweight woven fabric with good drape such as rayon, linen and linen blends, cotton lawn, chiffon.

This is a project that will be done on the serger using an overcast stitch and a narrow hem, the quality of your hem will depend on your serger. Some sergers do not have the capability to create a tight narrow hem stitch.  If you are questioning whether your existing serger is capable give the store a call.

Materials needed:

• Serger (4 thread)
• Threads - 3 spools, If you want a tighter looking finish it is recommended one of the spools be a stretch thread.
• The Completer Pattern – (available at Schiller’s - $20)
• Fabric - see pattern for required amount

 

Please Note:    Please have your items cut out prior to class.  The sample we show was lengthened by 3 inches in both the body and sleeves.  If you have any questions just ask us!
