Tango Tote

The Tango Tote is a dance between two exterior fabrics and is great design for featuring a favorite large print.  Perfect for when you have a lot of stuff to carry, this roomy tote features an exterior pocket for your cell phone and other items.  This tote features interior slip pockets, an interior combo slip/zip pocket, key ring leash, and zipper closure.  Finished size 12” H x 18” W (top) x 7’ D.

NOTE: Although not difficult, this project is appropriate for intermediate skill level sewers.

Materials:

• Fabric
  • ½ yard Fabric A for exterior body and exterior pocket
  • 2/3 yard Fabric B for exterior body, handles and upper interior (increase to ¾ yard for longer handles)
  • 1 yard Fabric C for interior
• Interfacing & Stabilizers
  • 3 ½ Yards of 20-22 in wide cotton fusible interfacing such as Pellon Shapeflex
  • 1 yard of firm stabilizer such as Pellon 926 or Bosal In-R-Form
• Other Supplies
  • Tango Tote pattern by around the bobbin.  (Sold at Schiller’s for $10.00)
  • One 10-12” zipper for interior pocket
  • One 22-24” zipper to top zip closure
  • Swivel snap hook for 1/2“ wide key chain leash
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread and bobbin to match fabric
  • Zipper foot
