If you are looking for a nice, easy quilting project that sews up quickly, this is the one for you! The secret of success with this quilt is being sufficiently bold with your additional fabric.
If you are looking for a nice, easy quilting project that sews up quickly, this is the one for you! The secret of success with this quilt is being sufficiently bold with your additional fabric. You need to make the stars surrounding the dark four-patch blocks stand out. It is also important to have contrast between the dark and light four-patch blocks, so look out for suitable charm packs with a good selection of lights and darks. You could also use two charm packs in a medium/dark range of fabrics plus two plain/neutral charm packs. I chose to use batik charm packs that included a nice selection of lights and darks. I chose white as my additional fabric and added a dark blue and then a white border to make the quilt approximately 52” x 70”, a nice size for a lap quilt. Very little cutting is necessary to get started. You will only need to cut your additional fabric into squares and the sewing begins! If you can sew a square to another square, you can make this quilt! Choose some nice charm packs in a color scheme you like and before you know it you will have a beautiful quilt!
Finished quilt size approximately 52” x 70”
