Embellish™ Premium Fusible Batting is for the use of creating soft, flexible, luxurious embroidered quilts, wearable art and home decorating projects. Made from premium high-quality polyester, this batting will be your go-to for all quilting and crafting projects because of its versatility. It doesn’t add unwanted bulk and retains a nice drape, making it perfect for table runners, pillows and quilted jackets.
For a modern look, pre-wash your fabric before using Embellish™ Fusible Loft Batting. For a weathered antique look, don’t prewash your fabric. The fabric will gently shrink, adding the perfect amount of weathering after the first laundering.
Prepping your fabric:
Adhering Embellish™ Premium Fusible Batting to Fabric:
Fuse the shiny, textured side of Embellish™ Premium Fusible Batting to the back of the fabric using a Medium setting on your iron or press. Steam is not necessary but will not harm the batting if you use it while pressing the item. Be sure your iron touches the fabric, NOT the batting. Use a press cloth if necessary. **Remember that steam will cause slight shrinkage in your batting and fabric. Prep your materials by pre-shrinking if this is not your overall goal for the piece you are working on.
**Just like traditional quilt batting, it is also recommended to cut Embellish™ Premium Fusible Batting at least one inch larger than your fabric piece and then trim to size once it is fused in to place.
**Because all irons vary in temperature settings, start at a lower setting when fusing the fabric to batting and gradually increase the heat setting until you get a good fuse!
