Honeybee Placemat

Make this hexagon shaped placemat to add a touch of whimsy to your table.  This Sweet Pea design is made in a 7 x 12 hoop.  There are 2 panels in this placemat.  Learn how to use mylar, vinyl and cork in your machine.  Each half is made in the hoop and joined using a regular sewing machine.

The finished dimensions are approximate.

Materials Needed:

• Sweet Pea Pattern (can be downloaded from SweetPea directly or purchased the day of the class)
• Embroidery Machine with 7 x 12 hoop or larger (rentals available)
• Embroidery Bobbin
• Embroidery Thread (suggested, or you choice)

• Embroidery Needles (90/14)
• Applique scissors

  • Fabric A - (2) Background 8" x 14" (Cork or other material)
  • Fabric B - (4) Short Borders 4 1/2" x 3"
  • Fabric B - (4) Long Borders 3" x 9 1/2"
  • Fabric C - Bee Body (2) 3" x 5" (Lux Sparkle Vinyl or Cotton material)
  • Fabric D - Flower (2) 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" (Cotton material)
  • Optional - Iridescent Mylar for Bee Wings
