Class Description and Materials Needed

This Certified Martha Pullen Class will teach you many wonderful techniques on yopur serger.  We will be learning about sew shrink techniques, cover stitching, piping and more.  The pattern is included in your $10 class, so it wont even cost you an arm and a leg to make this!

You will need:

  • Your Cover Stitch/Overlock Capable Serger
  • Your All Purpose Serger Foot
  • Your Piping/ Cording 5mm Foot
  • Your CoverStitch Table and Overlock Door (For Babylock Machines)
  • 23" x 13.5" of Dupioni Silk or Satin for the outer Bag
  • 18" x 11" rectangle of Lining Fabric (I used Cotton)
  • 55 inches of 1 1/2" silk ribbon for the decorative flower
  • 23" x 13.5" of Floriani Heat-N-Shrink/Sew Shrink
  • 16" x 9" of fusible fleece, or for a thicker bag, Soft and Stable or Sew Fab Foam
  • 60 inches of 3/32" piping Cord (I used the Fusible Piping Cord from the Store from Clover)
  • (2) 2" x WOF for piping made of Lining Fabric
  • 1 Magnetic Purse Snap
  • 1 spool decorative thread (12 weight Cotton, Pearl Crown Rayon or Wonderfil Dazzle or Razzle)
  • 3 spools serger thread to match heavy deocrative thread
  • 1 Hand Sewing Needle for Flower. 
  • Optional:  If you'd rather than the flower, a large decorative button
