Although this wallet may look fancy and elegant, it’s a breeze to make!  TThree coordinating fat quarters of fabric can be transformed into this lovely and functional accessory.  You will be guaranteed to turn heads when you pull out this wallet!  The construction is very simple so even a real beginner can make this project.  You will be so pleased with this wallet that you will be anxious to make several more!  The metal frame closure looks so professional and yet it is incredibly easy to apply.  Have one for each tote bag or purse that you make!  We know you have a few!  

The Wallet frame can be purchased right in store, and the pattern is included in your class fee!

The finished (closed) size of the wallet is 7.5”wide and 4 ½” long.

 *Please use good quality fabrics*

Materials:

  • Two Piece Metal Wallet Frame 8” Wide
  • Two D rings for strap
  • Three coordinating Fat Quarters
  • ¼ yard Décor Bond fusible interfacing
  • Extra small Phillips Head screw driver (we have some if you do not, this is for the frame)
  • (1) 7” or longer all-purpose polyester zipper to match inside fabric
  • ¼” wide Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 or ¼” wide wash-a-way wonder tape
  •    (for ease in inserting the zipper)
  • Matching sewing thread
  • New size 80/12 universal sewing machine needle
  • Usual sewing supplies: scissors, pins, marking pen, seam ripper etc.
  • ¼” sewing machine foot and a zipper foot
  • Sewing machine in good working order

Cutting:

  •   Body – 8.5”W x 8.5”L
  •   Zipper Pocket – (2)7.25" x 8.5" (something other than your body Fabric)
  •  Top Card Pocket: (1) 8 " x 8.5"
  •   Card Pocket – (3) 8 ½”W x 4”L  (cut one of each fat quarter)
  •  Wallet Lining-1 8.5"W x 10" L (I matched this to my body fabric)
  •  D Ring Tabs: (2) 2" x 4"

Interfacing

  •   Body – (1) 8.5”W x 7.5"”L of One sided fusible Foam (We carry Sew Fab Foam in store)
  •   (3) 2" x 7.5" of Decor Bond for pockets and (1) of Decor Bond 3" x 7.5" for Top Pocket
