Screen Play

Come join us while we learn to embroider on mesh and sew together the bag with cute fabric accents! This is a fun tote bag using fabric sewn to vinyl mesh. 

Important Note: Because this project involves the use of BOTH a sewing and an embroidery machine, we WILL be providing machines for your use for this class!  However, you will still need to provide your own fabrics and thread.

Materials:

• Pattern: Screen Play by Nancy Ota (Can be purchased at Schiller’s $8.00)
• Vinyl mesh 18” x 31” (variety of colors available for purchase at Schiller's)
• Cotton webbing 1” x 40”
•  Fabric 1 (bottom) –
  •  (2) 2 ½” X 19”
  • 12 ½” x 14”
• Fabric 2 (middle)-
  • (2) 3” x 19”
• Fabric 3 (bag top)-
  • (4) 2” x 19”
• Bottom Support-
  • 5 ½” x 11 ½” (optional: can use cardboard, Peltex, Decorbond, Stitch N’ Shape)
• 1 pack of extra wide bias tape double folded (same color as your mesh)
• Thread to match mesh bag for sewing, and embroidery threads. We chose the following colors but you can pick your own.
  • design uses (1) orange, (1) cream, (2) yellow, (3) pink, (1) dark gray, (3) shades of blue
