Since April is National Serger month we are making this stylish and versatile tote. 90% is done on the serger. There is some stitching on a regular sewing machine. Since there is very little regular sewing, you don’t have to bring your sewing machine. We will use the stores. You do have to bring your serger. You can make this tote as wide and/or as tall as you want just by using more or less strips. It is very easy and we can finish in one class.

Supplies:

  • A serger in good working order. Make sure you have a brand new needle (size 14)  and a sharp blade.
  • Tote the Line pattern. (Call the store if you need to order one.)
  • 20 different colored strips 2 ½” x 18 strips. ( a jelly roll is great)
  • ½ yd fusible interfacing. (I used Heat & Sta Light Fleece. I wanted a little puffiness).

  • 45” (or longer) of 1” belting for handle.

  • 1 spool decorative thread for flatlocking. (I used pear crown rayon.)
