Ahh...summer…picnics…fireworks…the 4th of July. Well, the 4th may have come and gone by the time of the Fair but we can keep it going this year with a bit of Red, White, and Blue. The Creative Challenge for this year’s Brooklyn Fair is to make something, anything, from ONLY Red, White and Blue fabric. It can be simple or intricate, quilted or embroidered, whatever you want.
There will NOT be any categories this year. Your item can be embellished with embroidery or any other items so long as the only colors are some shade of red, white and blue.
So here are the details:
There is no limitation on the item being created so long as it is made out of ONLY red, white and blue fabric. You can use any shade(s) of these colors but you can NOT use any other color fabric.
The perimeter of your item can be no more than 144inches (ie. 3 ft x 3 ft). If your item is odd-shaped (e.g. flower petals), we will measure the maximum width and length in order to get perimeter. Your project must be new and made specifically for this challenge; they can not have been previously shown or entered into another venue. Please note that this is a change in the size from what we originally posted. SORRY!!
We will have three awards:
1st Prize - $75 Gift certificate at Schiller’s
2nd Prize - $50 Gift certificate at Schiller’s
3rd Prize - $25 Gift certificate at Schiller’s
The Fair is relatively late this year (August 26th – Aug 29th). You must have your entry (only one entry per person) here at the store no later than the close of business Saturday August 14th.
The finished projects will be put on display in our booth at the Brooklyn Fair. Judging will be by attendees to the fair and will be based solely on personal preference.
