Have you ever tried to chenille using flannel fabrics?  These fluffy pot holders are made using layers of flannel, with batting to give them loft and heat resistance.  Pick some good quality flannel and you will be on your way to learning how to make these great potholders, and hopefully, applying this technique to other projects!  The finished potholders are 9” square and are fully bound around the edge.  Make lots of these great kitchen helpers for family and friends in colors to match their homes!  The method for making these potholders is simple and quick so come and join us for a great class!!

**DO NOT PRE-WASH YOUR FLANNEL**

 

OPTION 1: To make 2 Potholders

    5 Fat Quarters of different 100% cotton Flannels

    2 – 10” squares of low loft 100% cotton batting

 

OPTION 2:  To make 1 potholder

    5 – 10” squares of 100% cotton Flannels

    1 – 10” square of low loft 100% cotton batting

    1 – 2 ½” x 42” strip of Flannel for binding

 

Materials:

  • Which Way Do I Go? Potholders pattern
  • Clover Slash Cutter – we have this here at the store
  • Good scissors – 5” or 6” with sharp points
  • Chalk marker or disappearing marker that can be seen on your flannel
  • Ruler, pins, small scissors, seam ripper etc.
  • Spray adhesive
  • Sewing machine in good working order
  • Walking foot for your machine – **very important**
  • 100% cotton thread to match your fabrics
