Fashionable, and functional, too! The pot holder designs are available in two sizes. The large size is for the 6 x 10 hoop, and the finished size is 5.85" x 8.15" high. The small size is for the 5 x 7 hoop, and the finished size is 4.85" wide x 6.8" high. Because this size is smaller, it is possible that your entire hand will not fit in the pockets, and will serve more as a "fingertip" pot holder.
Just in time for the cooler weather, we have a nice project that will inspire you to think about doing some fall cooking or baking. These “in the hoop” embroidered pot holders are just the right size to have on hand when you are using the oven or the microwave. The embroidery designs made for the pot holders are very nice with a lot of attention to detail. I have made these cute and durable pot holders for family and friends as well. You will need to go to www.emblibrary.com and purchase your choice of the pot holder design packs. There are an abundance of different themes and if you want to purchase a floral, kitchen or Christmas design pack, that is just fine, the construction is the same.
Please just make sure that if the largest hoop for your embroidery machine is 5” x 7”, you purchase the “small” size. If your machine has a larger hoop (6” x 10”), (7” x 12”) or (8” x 12”) purchase the “large” size. They list the size of the pack pretty clearly so hopefully you won’t have any problem. The pack that I purchased is number X4462 if you would like the same pattern as mine. Back when I bought mine there weren’t nearly as many choices as there are now! So take a look at all the beautiful styles and maybe you will even want to buy a couple of them! This will be a one day class so there will be no charge to you. For all of you embroiderers out there who haven’t done a lot of “in the hoop” projects, this one is a great place to start.
See you in class!
