Embroidered Screen Beach Bag

Embroidered Screen Beach Bag

(2-Class Project)

This was one of the most enjoyable embroidery projects we have ever done!  You might wonder how the stitches in the embroidery designs hold onto the screen material so well, but with just the proper stabilization, your designs will seem to float over your bag!  We picked an oceanic theme with lots of fish, coral and seaweed to liven up our beach bag.  There is a very nice, brand new, embroidery design CD from Dakota Collectibles with beautiful under water designs that are perfect for this project. We have it here in the store and it retails for $49.95.  Come in and take a look at the designs and see if it is something you would like to have. There is no pattern necessary for this bag so you only need to purchase the screening and a fabric to match your theme.  This is a project sure to delight you or a special someone who might like a cute summer gift.  Hope to see you soon!

Materials List

* One piece of fiberglass screening approximately 36”   X 18”.  Make sure you do not buy the metal screening to embroider on.

*  One yard of good quality cotton for the trim and a small zippered pouch for your valuables if you wish to make one.

*  Black thread for sewing the screening and thread to match your fabric.

*  Embroidery designs of your choice and embroidery thread.

*  Wet-N-Gone water soluble stabilizer or any fabric style water soluble.

*  Embroidery/sewing machine in good working order

*  (Optional) 7” zipper for small pouch

We will make this a two part class so all of the embroidery can be done in the first part
